write-protected tape
Author: Dan
Date: 28-12-07 02:47

This indicates a write-protected tape. Yes, I'm using Bacula.

8-Dec 01:46 bacula-dir: Start Backup JobId 15913, Job=ngaio.2007-12-28_01.46.12
28-Dec 01:46 bacula-dir: Recycled current volume "DLT7000-013"
28-Dec 01:46 bacula-sd: End of Volume "DLT7000-013" at 0:0 on device "DLT" (/dev/nsa0). Write of 64512 bytes got 0.
28-Dec 01:46 bacula-sd: ngaio.2007-12-28_01.46.12 Error: Error writing final EOF to tape. This Volume may not be readable.
dev.c:1688 ioctl MTWEOF error on "DLT" (/dev/nsa0). ERR=Permission denied.
28-Dec 01:46 bacula-sd: ngaio.2007-12-28_01.46.12 Error: label.c:477 Unable to write device "DLT" (/dev/nsa0): ERR=dev.c:1688 ioctl MTWEOF error on "DLT" (/dev/nsa0). ERR=Permission denied.

28-Dec 01:46 bacula-sd: Marking Volume "DLT7000-013" in Error in Catalog.

To fix, eject the tape, adjust the write-protect tape, mount the tape, and adjust the tape status using the update volume command in bconsole.
