 mounting ISO images
Author: Ian Rowan
Date:   23-10-00 21:37

Hi, and thanks for a very fun and informative site which has saved my bacon a bunch. Just wanted to note
that in your instructions for mounting ISO images, you use the vnconfig command -- which version of BSD is this, as I don't have such a command? Instead of creating the device, I simply used 'mount'
as I was accustomed to doing in Linux, using the loopback option, or 'mount -o loop -t iso9660 fubar.iso /cdrom'. I also noticed that some [Open and Net]BSD users said this was inapplicable, hence the vnconfig command. Can anyone shed further light on this subject?

loop option? eh?

# mount -o loop -t iso9660 `pwd`/4.1.1-install.iso /mnt
mount: exec mount_iso9660 not found in /sbin, /usr/sbin: No such file or directory
# mount -o loop -t cd9660 `pwd`/4.1.1-install.iso /mnt
cd9660: -o loop: option not supported
