 Make world

I amb trying to install IPv6 sw and naturally I need to execute make world to upgrade my system.
I know that this command must be executed as root in /usr/src directory but when I typed it nothing happen, and it shows a error message "make not accept world".
I have readed the documentation and the FAQ but I don't know what happen.
I use Freebsd 3.4.
Please, help me!!!

First, why do you think you need to upgrade your system? Why do you think you need to do a make world?

Second, and only if you really DO need to make world, have you obtained the latest system sources?

Have you seen read <a href="">The make-world script</a>?

Perhaps I didn't explain very well my problem.
I need to install the Inria Implementation for IPv6 and one step of the installation was that I had to rebuild everything doing make world in /usr/src for all the utilities.
Then I had to use "config xxx" and "make depend;make" for the kernel.
I didn't know how to do this and the meaning of each command.
Because of it I wrote here.
Thanks for you help.
I will read these pages now.
