 ppp.conf enable dns
Author: Joe Kiser

Hello, I'm having a problem with ppp on my computer.
My ISP uses three dns servers: I set these up in /etc/resolv.conf. Then, I set up PPP with the 'enable dns' option in /etc/ppp/ppp.conf. But when I connect to the net, PPP overrides everything in /etc/resolv.conf with it's own servers like 206.xx.xx.xx. This, of course, causes PPP to fail the next time I connect to the internet. So the obivous solution is to comment out 'enable dns', right? Well, when I do that, my connection doesn't work at all. I don't know what to do, I'm out of clues? Anyone care to comment on how they've fixed this problem before?

Oh yeah, I changed /etc/resolv.conf to chmod 666 but the file still gets overwritten.
