The problem is, is that no one can connect to my FreeBSD box. Ping cant ping it, traceroute cant find it, you cant ssh or ftp or http into it, it essentially doesnt exist on the internet. However I can do all of those things FROM the FreeBSD box. I can ftp/httpd/ssh/ping/traceroute to anywhere else on the internet.
I SSHed into a box at work, and then tried to SSH back.. didnt work. I couldnt even ping myself from the box I was connected to!
In frusteration I have removed the firewall, and turned any network-related security meausres off!
No one can ping me even then!
I then unplugged my cable connection from my FreeBSD box and slapped it into a Windows ME box. I installed an FTP server and had a friend try to connect. It worked. He could ping me, everything. It all worked!
I've re-installed FreeBSD from scratch twice on it trying to get it to work. No dice.
What could be causing this? This is driving me absoultly NUTS. (A friend of mine is running FreeBSD himself, and I cant ping him, etc, anything. so its not localized to just my box.)
