handy trick for monitoring multiple systems
Author: Daniel Schrock
Date:   22-12-00 07:05

I just discovered this one the other night so i thought i would share it.

For users of gkrellm and X-win (both must be installed but X doesn't have to be running on all of the boxen, just the client you are monitoring from)

on the client you want to monitor from:
>xhost +hostname

do this for every system you want to monitor...

then ssh into the system you want to monitor:
>export DISPLAY=hostname:0.0
>gkrellm &

the security implications this may impose, i have not looked into yet, but it is very nice to have graphical monitoring of every *nix system on your network all lined up on a desktop for quick viewing...
