 No autocompletion. Install BASH ?
Author: Andrew

I 'm running BSD 4.0. I don't get autocompletion. Example I type in part of a file tab and hit TAB. Or when I hit the up arrow my last command doesn't appear.

Do I need to install a BASH shell ? If so how ?

Yes, a bash shell will do that for you. Install bash from the ports. Did you look at the topics page? Under shell?

the standard shell that is used in 4.0 is the old csh. it gets replaced by tcsh after 4.0, and tcsh is csh with autocompletition and something else.
but anyways, the csh hast autocompletition too, but it is not TAB, it is ESC.
