Rotating logs for virtual hosts / Using "The newsyslog solution"
Author: kaba1ah

Hello,

Could "The newsyslog solution" (http://www.freebsddiary.org/rotatelogs.php) be used for rotating logs for virtual hosts? Let's say I have ten virtual hosts and would like to rotate both -access and -error log files. Is it OK to SIGUSR1 for each log file?

Thank you in advance!

Yes

I just do it for the last log file. If you're rotate files for 10 host at once, put the SIGUSR1 on the 10th file only. No need to signal Apache for every rotation.
