 Sendmail question
Author: heathy

I followed this entry and it works, but only for people sending mail that use that server for sending mail. What I want is all mail being relayed through the server,ie mail being send from another mail server I control, to have it's reply-to address changed to say instead of

Is there a way to make sendmail do this?

I'm not sure I understand the question.. let me see if I've got the right idea...

You have a relay system named
You have a mta system named

The mta relays through, and you want the delivered mail to appear as though it is coming from instead of

Is this right?

Yes correct, I did find the answer and got it working. Here is what you need to do...

Add this to the MC file:

GENERICS_DOMAIN_FILE(`-o /etc/mail/genericdomains')
FEATURE(genericstable,`hash -o /etc/mail/genericstable')

Create a genericdomains file and put in the domain of the server that send mail is relaying for you. In your example

Create a genericstable file containing:

Do the /usr/sbin/makemap -v hash /etc/mail/genericstable < /etc/mail/genericstable to make the database.

Do the steps to make these new settings to stick and it should work.
