Sorry folks, but the freebsddiary.org computers have been seized by the
cops and the website is off the air. I've been served with legal papers which
are obviously a mistake, but the cops don't see it that way. Apparently I've
been running an S+M site which contains "explicit and offensive material" from
my domain and someone has taken offence and gone to court to get a "cease and
desist" order. Right now I'm heading over to a friend's place to use his scanner.
I want to get these documents online so someone can help me figure out some sort of
way around this. I can't run the website without those seized boxes.
What's even hard to believe is that they think that FreeBSD is some kind of bondage
site. What's stranger is there's all kinds of actual bondage sites around and I
don't hear about them being shut down. I don't think anyone thought to check the
website before the court order was granted. I'm pissed off.
Anyways. I'm gutted. I've talked to my lawyers, but unfortunately it's
already Saturday here in New Zealand and they can't get hold of anyone. And since
I've not had any cash coming in since September it's going to be very difficult for me to
fight this one. But I'm sure everything will be sorted out eventually.
In the meantime folks, please bear with me while I get this shit hole of a mess sorted
out. But I don't know how long it's going to take. In the meantime, I've set
up a copy of phorum running on another webserver. If you have any questions or comments
please leave a note there. cheers.
Thanks for your support over the past two years. It's been great. I hope to
have the website up and running again ASAP.
