I found the above message when doing lots of cvs adds:
cvs [add aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
Hmmm, checking the cvs server logs:
Dec 2 21:36:14 xeon inetd[155]: cvspserver from 10.55.0.67 exceeded counts/min (limit 60/min)
Ahhh, inetd is throttling.
I waited a bit, tried again. All was well.
