I tried for 2 days to set up printing to a network printer attached to a Windows machine by working on /etc/printcap and magicfilter. I even tried the /dev/smbprint method but none worked. Finally, I installed apsfilter and it was such a great product that the setup was so easy. It worked without any problems for me.
