 pkgdb -F
Author: Robert Huff

Tou use as an example:

Stale dependency: gimp-1.2.2_1,1 -> freetype2-2.0.5:
freetype-1.3.1_1 (score:50%) ? ([y]es/[n]o/[a]ll) [yes] n
New dependency? (? to help): XFree86-4.1.0_10
Fixed. (-> XFree86-4.1.0_10)

That stops the complaints, but - is it the correct answer?
I would hesitate (at the very least) to substitute anything that wasn't the same base package with a version higher than that requested.
