your model has another RAM socket under the keyboard and each will take a 1 GB stick, for a total of 2 GB RAM.

Jeff: Thank you. Very useful to know.
For now, I have 756MB of RAM. Opening new applications now takes much less time than previously.
Next goal: bigger HDD.
