Interestingly enough, this is not the first time this has happened. Some time ago, defcon1.org had several of my articles. Today I found another example. A reader wrote http://www.freebsddiary.org/phorum/list.php?f=3&article_id=51 about an error. Later, not having the message to hand, I went to search for the phrase. I used Google and found this http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=%22correct+way+to+stop+httpd+is%22&btnG=Google+Search You will note that defcon1.org has taken the content, complete with error. I have not yet corrrected the error, but will do so soon.

The defcon article is at http://www.defcon1.org/html/Software_Articles/Apache-start-stop/apache-start-stop.html and I have saved the image at http://www.freebsddiary.org/images/defconf1.org.apache.stop.start.jpg.

It's sad. I don't mind people using my work to better their lives. But I resent theft.

More than understandable. As a fellow how-to writer, I am always amazed how many places I will find identical articles while doing research. What's even more amazing, is they all seem to have a different author.
