 CTM usage

I am one of the unfortunate souls running FreeBSD (in this case, PCBSD which so far has rocked my fro!) behind a proxy. When it comes to my ports synch, cvsup cannot use an http_proxy setting so I'm pretty much dead in the water. Then I learned about CTM (Current Through eMail) in which you can synch the ports through emails.

The only problem is, I've never used this (it's dated all the way back to FreeBSD 2.0!!!) and the instructions are a bit convoluted.

If anyone has had experience with using CTM to synch your ports tree, how did you do it to keep /usr/ports and the contents of what would be a sup-file the same as if you were using cvsup?
