Installing FreeBSD onto a Highpoint based RAID
Author: pressureuk

Hi,

I'm having no luck installing 5.3 onto a server fitted with a Highpoint RocketRAID 1640 card and 2 80gb SATA drives attached.

I've been to Highpoints website and they have some freebsd drivers to download which consist of two floppy img files, one for 4.x and one for 5.x.

I've made floppy I need successfully (afaik) but the problem i'm having is that freebsd wont recongise the disk.

I choose option 6 in the bootmenu to get the 'ok' prompt and type in load disk0:foo like it says but I just get an 'open disk0:/ failure cannot be found' error.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Paul.
