 not able to switch user

i've installed free BSD linux. I'm not able to do swith user to root.
It always gives su: sorry. I've added the user under the wheel group, but still it is not allowing me to switch.

If the machine is local to you, can you log in directly as root?

When you su, you must supply the root password.
