First time installing FreeBSD and yes I did by a book. When I use the CD that came with the book it hangs at "ata0: resetting devices..". Th version is 5 and I am using a P4 3.0 and ASUS P4S800 with 512Mb and a 160 GB drive. I can not find any hep in the book, any ideas?

I seem to remember something about turning off DMA in the BIOS.

Why not download the latest ISO and try that instead? The problem may have already been resolved with that version.
