I'm using a Radeon 9250. This is actually the latest Radeon card that has hardware 3D accelleration supported by open source code.

Go to the xorg website and have a look at the docs:
http://www.x.org/X11R6.8.1/RELNOTES.txt

Look under "3.1 Video Drivers".

Thanks for answering.
I have been there but I am still missing something.

The video card I am using is a simple ATI with 32 megs of mem.
The error that comes up is
(EE) R128(0): No DFP detected.

So, it seems that this card is not supported, even though it works ok in
FreeBSD 5.2.1

Any more pointers are welcome.

Happy new year
j
