 rm a file from /root directory

I couldnt delete a file from /root directory it has given an error message such as

override rw-r--r-- root/wheel schg for etcold.tbz
rm: etcold.tbz: Operation not permitted

why?

chflags noschg etcolg.tbz
chflags: etcold.tbz : Operations not permitted

I am root.. strange who has got a permission upper from the root?!?!?

I have to change secure level from rc.conf

$ sysctl kern.securelevel
kern.securelevel: 1

but from upper to lover security level can be change only rebooting isnt it?

did you try rm -rf filename as root?

The key is schg.

Try chflags noschg etcdold.tbz

Then you should be able to delete it.

read man chflags for more information.
