Hi ppl!
I've looked around, I can't find a tutorial on how to boot freeBSD with windows 2000. I think win98 won;t make trouble, but win2k has it's own boot manager. any ideas/pointers/links out there?
thanx.

FreeBSD boot manager is on Master Boot Record. Win2K boot manager uses superblock (simply the first block) of the "C" partition.
easyboot -->DOS-------------------------->>Win2K or Win98
-->FreeBSD
If you use thees steps, can install three systems in peace. :)
1. Install win98
2. Install Win2K on "D" partition. Win2K will install it's own boot manager.
3. Install FreeBSD

You can use some boot manager. There are some commercial like BootStar or System Commander but you can probably find some free managers on Internet.
Then you can install e.g. each system on its own primary partition. I'm using System Commander with Win2k, Win98, WinME and FreeBSD (of course :) ) with no problem.

Blah, not too hard ;o)
Install win2k last cause the boot manager isn't as nicely flexable, methinks
I'm running WinME, FreeBSD, and win2k, installed in that order :o)

unfortunately, i already have win98+win2k running, and don't want to break the working system, though I'll try to install FreeBSD, so that won't work. a big thank you to everybody! I'll see about System Commander. after backups ;)
greets.
