Hi, im have a webserver running freebsd 4.0 ist great!
I've been hosting only one website in the server, now i need to do virtual hosting (shared ip adress). I've read many tutorials and look arround in the web but i havent found much.
I tried <virtualhotst> in httpd.conf and it works good, but im confused..how do i a create a vuser, to have email working.
when i run vadduser in shell, i get an error.
Do i need a package or software to run virtual hosting?
Is there a control panel which can help to do this?

First of all, upgrade to freebsd 4.1, 4.0 has some security holes...
Virtual hosting is having multiple hostname on 1 IP. In apache, virtual hosting is quite easy, go to www.apache.org and read... it's all in httpd.conf anyway. I strongly suggest that you read on how to administrate fbsd before doing web/shell hosting.
If you need help, i'll be on IRC (undernet) in #windowmaker and #freebsd.
I'm there mostly at 10:00PM US/Eastern time zone.

Virtual domains with apache are no problem. Read the documentation. Virtual hosting for e-mail depence on your MTA. If you use sendmail, you can create a virtual usertable. For more information goto www.sendmail.org. You can also use postfix instead of sendmail. If you need a pop or imap server you can use cyrus. Cyrus is portet to FreeBSD.
Hope this helps.
