 dhcp questions. mostly about setup
Author: BSD newbie...

I have a freebsd box that is setup with two network cards. one that goes to the network, and one that goes to the cable modem. I have setup the IPnating to route traffic from the network to the modem. I had it working at work where I have a dhcp server available. but i took it home and forgot about that. so I would like to set up dhcp on this box so that my network knows what to do. If any one can help me it would be great. if you have another way of doing this please let me know cuz once again I am new at this. thanks every one.

Josh

Install one of the dhcpd daemons from the ports collection (cd to /usr/ports and
issue the following command: make search key=dhcp
to get a grip on which ports are available.

How to configure the port is up to you to read the included documentation. It's fortunately not rocket science and most include a tutorialish sample configuation
file.

Good Luck!
