RE: Other BSD OS's? Another OpenSource non-BSD OS.

Hi.

This isn't BSD, but it's an OpenSource (GPL) OS that not many people has heard of. It's called Atheos

http://www.atheos.cx

It's designed to be more for the user than as a server, is mostly POSIX complient and boasts excellent SMP support and a built-in C++ windowing environment (Not X.)

In theory, the goals are similar to that of BeOS. It's really new though, and doesn't even have a web browser (unless you count the one built into emacs, as emacs has been ported)

There are some handy apps that work though:

- mc
- emacs
- vim
- gcc
- many more

It's not at all like BSD, but you may find it interesting.

Have fun,

Ben
