Great article, Dan!

Thanks for reminding us that the "little things" count for so much. It's easy to forget just how much a little support and encouragement at the right time can do for anyone, newbie or not.

There's someone I need to thank for giving me that little push, and who continues to give support and encouragement to my FreeBSD efforts. He seems to remember what it's like to be a newbie. Maybe the trick is to always think of yourself as a newbie, and manage to not lose your enthusiasm for discovering neat things. Anyway, my thanks to Brad Mazurek for being a mentor and all-around cool guy.
