 Install problems

I'm trying to install freeBSD on Proliant 4500.

After the initial boot while probing the hardware the system displays the following:
Mounting root from ufs:/dev/md0
/stand/sysinstal/ running as init on vty0
After that the cursor freezez and the there is no response to keyboard. This happends prior to Kernel Configuration Menu.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for repeat but I didn,t give os version.

I'm trying to install freeBSD 5.0 on Proliant 4500.

After the initial boot while probing the hardware the system displays the following:
Mounting root from ufs:/dev/md0
/stand/sysinstal/ running as init on vty0
After that the cursor freezez and there is no response to keyboard. This happends prior to Kernel Configuration Menu.

I get a similar error on Proliant 1600, 2500, and 4500 All of them have different hardware except for Smart/2 RAID controller. The 1600 and 2500 ware running previously RedHat8.0 without major problems so I know they are ok and the configuration didn't change.

I initially tought that it was Memory problem since the memory is not being properly recognized on any of the Proliants but passing "maxmem=" parameter to kernel didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated (Don't make me go back to that dog RH 8.0).

Use FreeBSD 4.7 instead.
