 Tight VNC help!

Greetings,

I've installed TightVNC and it installs fine (on freebsd 4.6). When i started it up i got this error:

$/usr/home/farina/.vnc/xstartup

xrdb: Can't open display ''
xsetroot: unable to open display ''
$twm: unable to open display ""
xterm Xt error: Can't open display:

I can't figure out what my mistake was. Can anyone help me

The DISPLAY enviornment variable isn't set.

The DISPLAY env. variable is set by the X Window System. Meaning
if you've got X running the DISPLAY variable should be there.
