 Printer issue...
Author: Begbie

Hi guys

I installed successfully a printer (HP Laserjet 5si) on the parallell port of my FreeBSD-Box (4.7).
It works fine except after each job a empty sheet of paper is printed. This isn't to bad but still quite annoying. How come? And how can I get rid of this?

greets

I had the same extra page printed before I modified my printcap file.

You'll need to modify your /etc/printcap file to pipe the output
through a filter. Some filters for Laserjets can be found by digging
around in /usr/local/libexec

Reading the Printer section in the handbook can show you how to modify the printcap file and the use of a filter for your particular printer.
