please help!
I just assembled a new compuetr....It doing fine but i dun seem to have the cdrom drive in the 'my computer window. The post test show it detected on the slave drive. How come....Could someone please help me.

The "my-computer" window? Sounds like Windows to me, not FreeBSD.

you check under /dev and see..
or u mount ur cdrom by mount /cdrom
