 Setting Up DSL Connection
Author: Greg Jones
Date:   09-08-00 07:04

I am having trouble getting FreeBSD to work with the settings provided by my ISP. My network card works, and the DSL works, the problem seems to be the FreeBSD routing table it generates. After setting up the network, the ip, the subnet, the gateway, during a clean install of FreeBSD 4.0, I cannot even ping the gateway, much less any part of the internet. It simply states "Network unreachable". I have gone in and taken out all the network /etc/rc.conf, and have tried to manually setup the connection using ifconfig and route with no sucess.

The settings provided by my ISP look like so:
Static IP on 209.183.109.159
netmask of 255.255.255.128
gateway of 207.2.124.254

How would I go about getting this to work with the settings above?

Thanks in advance.
