 Fresh Ports
Author: Peter Smith

Hi All,

When I use FreshPorts, and I go to download a new port, I end up at somewhere like ftp5.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/branches/-current/ports/www/mod_php4/

Alas, ftp5 seems to always be behind what FreshPort says, e.g. FreshPorts says the version of mod_php4 is 4.1, when at ftp5 it is 4.0.4.

However, at ftp6.freebsd.org it seems to be the right version.

I would have left this on FreshPorts, but their forum doesn't seem to be work.

regards
Peter

You should use cvsup instead of downloading. I really should remove that link. It is unreliable compard to cvsup.

Ah, you are so right - cvsup is running even as I write this.
