Totally different I think. FreshPorts contains the latest updates. It also reflects and supports the structure of the FreeBSD Ports tree. I've been to the bsd section on tucows. It's good to see BSD being supported by the more popular websites. And I want to encourage them to do more. But I feel they have some way to go. The site contains only a subset of the FreeBSD ports. I hope people are aware of that when they are on the site. I also don't understand their naming conventions for their download files. e.g. for portsentry. What's that fbstab?

I certainly hope they expand the site, but I don't think they'll do that unless it proves to be popular. It's a hard spot to be in.

As for the ratings system, when I have time, a rating system will be implemented here. The ratings will be assigned by the users. If you read back into the earlier posts in this forum, you'll see it was one of the first suggestions.
