 mount -o user
Author: Alexander Anderson

Hi,
I would like to make my CD-ROM mountable by user. I understand that "mount" command should have option "user" that will allow you to do that. But it looks like on my machine, it doesn't?! I get:

> mount /cdrom
cd9660: -o user: option not supported

Any ideas why it is so? Here's the line from /etc/fstab:

/dev/acd0c /cdrom cd9660 ro,noauto,user 0 0

I have FreeBSD 4.0 if that helps. Assuming I do everything right, does that mean that I have to upgrade "mount" utility? How could I do that? Thanks for help!

Let me introduce you to a radical concept. RTFM.

This is an FAQ.
