How to get Geforce 2 DDR to work?
Author: Bjorn Tornqvist

Hi!

I'm feeling a bit desperate here, Running 4.0-STABLE, with Xfree86 3.3.6 (as per default), I just can't get my Geforce 2 DDR to work in higher resolution than 320x200x8bpp. I can't find a specific driver for the card, but the results are similar for both the generic SVGA driver, and the Geforce DDR (not geforce 2). I choose a resolution in XF86Setup, and if I'm lucky, the X server is started (in 320x200 - nomatter what resolution I choose) and if I'm unlucky it doesn't start at all.
Anyone have any pointers to where I can find more information on how to "tweak" the card into a normal SVGA resolution? Preferably I'd like to have 1600x1200.

TIA,

Bjorn

This isn't a FreeBSD problem AFAIK It'll be an X problem. If X supports the card, then it'll work under FreeBSD. If you get no help here, try an X newsgroup, which you can search using deja.com btw....
