Adding a new partition to an existing drive
Author: Ramaswamy Srinivasan

I wish to add a new partition on my existing drive. I am currently running FreeBsd4.0. There seems to be no utility / program which can do this. I tried /stand/sysinstall but could not configure the partition name. The utility kept assigning "X" as the partition name instead of a name like "ad3s4e" for example. Currently on my HDD there are 4 partitions viz. /, /usr, /var, and the "swap" parition. Any help will be most welcome.

Thanks in advance
