 FTP Port Redirection
Author: Matt
Date:   15-04-00 09:45

Hi,

I am trying to redirect a port from my FreeBSD 4.0 R box (internet gateway for LAN) to a linux box also on my LAN (internal IP 10.1.1.120)
I have looked at the articles on this site (using ipnat) and have managed to get a redirection working (to test ipnat, port 6551
on localhost to 21 on localhost.)
However, when I do the following redirection it does not seem to work:

rdr tun0 (my internet IP)/32 port 6552 -> 10.1.1.120 port 21

When I try and connect to that port on my gateway FreeBSD machine from another machine on the net.. the connection just times out.
Is the syntax correct?

The FTP protocol consists of two ports, 20, 21. Port 20 is used for data. You'll have to redirect port 20 as well.
