Wrong /usr/ports arch even after a cvsup
Author: rino

after cvsup'ing my lappy to 4.2-S and the ports tree, i would get a message that would say something like my ports tree is not compliant with bsd.ports.mk structure. i'm goind in circles here as i've cvsup the ports tree twice and still getting the error and can't install anything from the ports.

i also went to the www.polstra.com which was suggested by the error message and checked on q12 and q13 of the faq but i'm afraid what it suggests is beyond me at the moment.

appreciate any help. thanks.

Well.. if you're desperate, you could delete every directory under /usr/ports and cvsup the ports after that? Yes, I've done this myself and everything seems to be still working as I don't keep the 'work' directories, I always do 'make install clean'.
