 The trouble with FreeBSD

Hello;

After installing, I use "telnet" to server from any client.

I find it is slow, too slow.

why???

How can I do?

maybe you have alot of trafic on the network? or maybe the machine that your telneting into is under a heavy work load

Can you tell us about your setup? Network connections, hardware(nics, CPUs, etc), also what is the servers/clients are bening used for? And other info you can prodive us.

Perhaps your software on the servers/clients is funky. Do you have any strange settings in your network (firewall, IP forwarding, etc)?

did you complie your own kernel on the FreeBSD side? if so what settings are being used?Zhengmao Sun wrote:

This is typically a DNS issue.

Check /etc/hosts for correct entries for the machines involved.
