while installing I'm getting this error..

can someone tell me whats going on here.. ?

I have no idea. My *guess* is that it couldn't write to the disk. There's a debug screen there I think. Try ALT-F2/3/4.

right well instead I shoved a freebsd 4.1-stable cd in and it installed fine, i guess it was the cd..

Idea 1. May be CR-reader is the reason.
When I installed FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE using
HITACHI CD-ROM I saw that mesage after every blok written to disk for every file
starting with second one.
Idea 2. May be comlexity of the drive configuration is the reason.
Configuration of the computer where similar problems occured is;
ide0 : u0 : HD1
u1 : HD2
ide1 : u0 : HD3
u1 : ATAPI CD-ROM
The same CD behaves on the more simple configurations (single HD and CD-ROM connected to different ide adapters) without any noticible problem.
