 Dial-in Service
Author: Don Brearley

Hello,

I currently have a FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE box with an internal 56k ISA modem it is a TBC.

My questions are:

1. Is this modem supported?
2. How can I setup a Dial in service?

Most internal modems are Winmodems, and therefore not compatible.
They usually use software flow-control instead of hardware flow-control, which, from my understanding, is the primary reason they don't/won't work. Your best bet is to pick an external modem.

then use the dairy to get the thing running:

Heh I dont know where you came up with that "most internal modems are winmodems"

In any case.. my modem wasnt one.. I did get everything working.

Thanks for your help anyways :)
