 Mozilla performance
Author: Robin Reagan
Date:   29-01-01 20:38

I just installed Mozilla 0.7 from ports and the performance is real poor. I have a
k6-2/400 128MB. Is there any way (compile options or what-not) that will increase
the performance to an acceptable level?

Don't quote me but I think that it is probably due to all of the debug code being compiled in? I have seen this performance hit on win/FreeBSD/linux using 0.6?

Anyone else?

yes,
rightnow mozilla sucks as far as usability is concerned. my mozilla-bin is not stripped
but if you
strip /usr/X11R6/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin
you may be able to weasel a small amount of performance out of it
