 natd ipfw and tun0

Well i have done everything for setting up general firewall like options in kernal config file and edited the /etc/rc.conf file.....when i recompiled and rebooted i got a message saying tuno interface does not exist

i have a line in /etc/rc.conf saying natd_interface="tun0"...
may i know what has to be done ...im a newbie

tun0 is your modem? You're using PPP? Don't use natd with ppp. Use the -alias option on ppp instead.

oh ok ill try to understand that...the thing is that i was just experimenting for the DSL thats coming.....with DSL ill get a fixed ip...anyways how to bring up tun0 interface....i have done things like adding it to kernel then recompiling adding a ifconfig_tun0 line in rc.conf..still tun0 doesnt show up dunno y
