Netgear FA311 to work with FreeBSD 4.1.1 Release
Author: McQueen

Hi there,

Can anyone help me getting my Netgear FA311 NIC to run under FreeBSD 4.1.1 ?
I used the dc driver (device dc0), because the LINT file showed that the FA310 would work with 'dc' ... I also added the device miibus ...
Kernel compiling was no problem .. no errors occured ... there's even no error in booten, but I still can't ping myself ... I changed my NIC some days ago, from an old fashioned NE 2000 ISA to this Netgear FA311 PCI (10/100 MBIT) ... and I didn't forgot to change the entry in rc.conf from ed1 to dc0

okay, this is what I wrote into my kernel

device miibus0
device ed0
device dc0

ed0 is my first NIC ... and realtek 8029 to work with my DSL modem ... everythings fine, PPPOE works
dc0 should be my 100 MBIT Netgear FA311 ...

I hope anyone could give me a hint ...

and excuse my bad english... I'm from germany ;)

cheers,
McQ
