Hello,
I also have an x61s that I was trying to install FreeBSD on but had the same tricked out error messages as in your screenshot. I was never able to get past it. Your article didn't describe how you got around that. Could you please provide more detail?
Thank you.

I mean: what version of FreeBSD prompted this issue on your laptop?
I believe I am now running 7.x but that laptop is at home and I am out of town, so I cannot verify.

This was the 7 release. At the time I had a USB cdrom that I tried it
on and I got the same screen you had posted:
http://www.freebsddiary.org/images/ThinkPadx61s/thumbs/100_3997.png
It appears to be a set amount of text that just scrolls incessantly
across the screen. I recently only have a USB floppy now. I tried
with the floppies (formatted first, then used fdimage) but I get the
same behavior.
Do you know how to get around that?
Thank you in advance for your time.

Ahh yes, I borrowed a docking station and installed from that.

OK....I don't have a docking station option...unfortunately. Do you know if there was a specific issue with this hardware and installing from USB fdd,cd, etc.? Do you have any other ideas on how to get it set up on this machine without docking station?
Thank you.

I don't know for sure, I just know I could not.

There may be other installation procedures in the FreeBSD docs.

Maybe this is an option too: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Have you ever heard of any problems with this one? Actually looks like it will make a vista dual boot set up quite painless...
