Hi,

How come in tcpdump, it only lets me see packets destined for my box, and broadcasts? surely theres more on the network.. (i'm a sysadmin trying to analyze my network utilization)

Anything else I should try?

im just doing 'tcpdump -vvv -i xl0'

Not knowing alot about the tcpdump prog in Freebsd, but it sounds like your nic card is not in promiscuous mode.. I hate it when my nic gets promiscuous with my network.. :) Promiscuous mode means it listens to all packets on the interface.. HTH
