 AMD64 with 8GB RAM showing 3071 MB?
Author: fpc##
Date:   18-11-06 06:44

Hey Guys,

I was reading the Dual Opteron server article from June http://www.freebsddiary.org/dual-opteron.php and the system is using 8GB ram with AMD64 Freebsd. I am a similar system, however only half the RAM is showing up in the OS, on boot all 8GB are scanned. Am I missing something here? I know PAE is only for intel chips, how do I get it to see the rest of the RAM? here is my dmesg
