acpiconf fails once I enable "DRI" in xorg

I installed FreeBSD 6 release on an IBM T40 laptop.

Before I enabled "dri" module in xorg.conf, "acpiconf -s 3" worked, except that I had to reactivate the mouse and network.

I added "dri" support in xorg.conf as follows:

Load "dri"
.....
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection

Now "acpiconf -s 3" makes the computer sleep, but I only get a noisy frozen window everytime I open the laptop afterward.
And each time I have to hard-restart the computer.

Also the IBM hibernation hot key doesn't work, each time I use it, the computer just freezes. The other hot keys work.

Did I do anything wrong? Is there a trick to fix this?
Thanks a lot in advance!
