 Newbie help - pureftpd
Author: Shutterbug

I've trying to configure a pureFTPd server under FreeBSD 5.4 and using mySQL as a backend for the user database (I will require the flexibility of SQL eventually).

My problem is that I can't get pureftpd to automatically create the user home directories when they logon (which will be critical to my use). I've modified the pure-ftpd.conf file so that this option is on, but when I logon with any user that I create in the mysql database, no new directory is created and I'm dumped into the root. Since my default directory ends up being \ - I have no permissions to place any files here for my users.

Where do I define the parent directory (say home)? And what am I doing wrong in not being able to get pureftpd to automatically create these new directories?

Thanks much!
